I sold Newspapers at Washington and Main with an "Old Irish" Immigrant from Limerick. I was 7 and 8 tears old. After that corner for an hour or two, I took an arm full of Papers To Mel's Drive-In a few blocks Up, on Washington And Olive. The Soda Jerk Would Give Me A Cherry Coke. The Girls All Wore Big Ring Earrings. With My Last Couple Of Papers I would Cross The Street And 'Sneak' Into The Olympic Auditorium Hawking The Papers, To Watch The Fights For An Hour Or Two. I Did That For Around Two Years Until I Moved Back To San Francisco. Different Worlds.

I crashed at these two intersection in 1969. Ran into a Porche and a corvette. Boy my Mom never let me forget that one

Hollywood and Vine was a famous intersection, but disappointing in real life. Wallich's Music City was a block away on Sunset and Vine. NBC Radio City was catty-corner. CBS and ABC were nearby. That was a happening area for a long time.
