Terlingua Patch _004
This was an eBaY acquisition. Clearly a forgery: genuine Terlingua Racing Team logos have "1860" in the date field.
1860 was the year of the first (horse-drawn wagon) race in the remote West Texas mining town of Terlingua. The three feathers represent the three Native American nations who frequented the area, each of whom spoke a different language (tres lenguas ... Terlingua to anglophone ears). There is a sun because that is the dominating force in West Texas, and the rabbit is a hare of the jack variety (lepus terlinguicus), holding up a paw and admonishing the cook: "That's enough pepper in the chili, thank you!"
The shield/badge/logo is by Bill Neale, a design genius.
