Astro (tracked)
For quite some time, I worked with untracked astro, interested in seeing just how far one could get in terms of image quality, dim objects, and so forth with nothing but a DSLR. In September of 2009, I moved to tracked shooting; I'm using a device called an "Astrotrac" to counteract the earth's rotation, and give me an opportunity to acquire long exposures.

Aside from that unit, which mounts between the tripod and the ball head, these images are all the product of nothing more than the camera, a standard photographic lens, and a cheap Satechi shutter release timer.

This set contains the tracked astrophotos.
