Rudolf the white-nosed reindeer
Hungry reindeer. No wonder, in March they are starving since more than 6 months in the arctic winter. It was only -15 degrees, not -40 anymore, but there is still a lot of snow and very few things to eat around.
Although these ones live in captivity, their instincts drive them towards non-stop eating. This particular one has already been fed twice by us by the time this picture was taken. Still he was reaching for my gloves holding the camera. It smelled like reindeer moss, their fundamental food.
This picture, shot at 10 mm, does not give back how close his mouth was - he almost licked the lens. Notice that their nose is actually white and fully covered with fur! The holes on the nose look like an eye with a very large mouth underneath.
