33-365 (Year 7) The Gospel

We were allowed to touch the ancient gospels in the Albanian State Archives. This one was written in Greek on parchment many hundreds of years ago.

It has been rebound more recently - perhaps only four hundred years ago.


But lovely as this is, the truths it contains are hidden from me. As the translators of the Authorised Version (aka King James Version) wrote in the preface:


Translation it is that openeth the window, to let in the light; that breaketh the shell, that we may eat the kernel; that putteth aside the curtain, that we may look into the most holy place; that removeth the cover of the well, that we may come by the water.
