Ninemile Pack String

Contractor Scott Glew, a professional farrier, works on shoeing Sadie in preparation for the 2011 season. The U.S. Forest Service Northern Region pack string continues their work this year hauling freight in and out of wilderness, educating “Leave No Trace” wilderness management to the backcountry horse and stock communities, and represent the agency at shows, expositions, and other events seen by nearly 100,000 people. The pack string is currently the only one of its kind in the entire nation.
