In this Carmel garden, I was intrigued to see how the parts were greater than the whole. One can only imagine what promise was being kept here. .

For the lucky birdies who nest here, this is luxury living! Such pretty, pretty birdhouses -- colors, forms, and patterns.

My favorite is the first photo which pares done the message. The whole garden! With so many focal points the "point" of a focal point does get a little lost! As always I enjoy your perceptions.

Your focused selection of the various sections of this garden certainly shows the gardener's vision. I think the owner will like your compositions.

Oooh, so many delightful details!... I, too, love the first birdhouse the most, got a big kick out of the sunglasses, and really enjoyed the painted vines in the last picture, along with that totally terrific ceramic footstool, complete with tassels.. How kewl is that?! Being a "rabid maximalist," I have noooo problem with the (cozy) clutter effect and being an incurable romantic, I'm hoping that "Promises Kept" might be their way of celebrating that they've had a long and happy marriage. BTW, I used to love taking pictures, but have somehow gotten blocked and now settle for just reveling in discovering everyone else's little gems, like these, calling myself an "image addict." In a spur of the moment whim, I decided to ask all of you to send me some encouragement to get back into what used to be my favorite hobby. You can just wish it for me. I'm not even asking for any written notes, but I believe in the power of putting things out in the universe, which has an amazing way of responding. Thank you all sooo much for your good thoughts. I want to join you as a full participant, not just a passive sidelines observer. Love to all of you, my kindred spirits, and thank you for all your wonderful pictures and the joy they bring.

??? Do you bring everything inside for the winter/rainy days? If not, how do they stay so nice?
