Photographed in environs of El Valle, Panama. The highland variety of this frog as depicted here is bright yellow. Lowland A zeteki are more dingy or "dirty yellow." it is likely that the highland form of this species is now extinct in the wild as the frog has not been seen at any historical localities for nearly 5 years (since 2007).
addendum: it is now likely that the species in its entirety may now be extinct in the wild (2012).
