I thought neighborhoods of abandoned homes were strange. Abandoned apartments are more so.
The City of Chicago has acquired 549 homes and many businesses in the shadow of the airport to make way for the O'Hare International Airport Modernization Program. Entire neighborhoods that are slated for demolition have been boarded up and abandoned.
What recently was a community is now a shell of it's former self.
A ghost town of sorts, except for the mystery security squad in the unmarked SUVs.
They materialize like magic.
Today, the only sound was the wind. Planes were seen but not heard.
An interesting phenomenon given the circumstances.
