Ocean of Mustard Seed
Here is another shot from this past summer when I attended a 5 day photo tour with www.palousetours.com. Our weather for the new year has been typical Pacific Northwest, rainy and blustery...that is until today!
This is a Mustard Seed field, as our photo tour guide, Jack Lien, stated that none of the farmers had planted canola for the year. He personally knows the owner of this farm, so we had unrestricted access to this awesome field. This was the first evening and as you can see it was cloudless. The atmosphere was harsh along the horizon, hence I upped the contrast a bit here to deepen the sky, as a circular polarizer did not do much. Of course thinking about it now, I could of slapped on one of my ND filters to maybe help out! I am still learning!
We did return to this field the next evening as we had some clouds move in, but it was a tad later in the evening and the flowers had more shadows to them. I do have a shot from that night here: www.flickr.com/photos/fresnatic/4799216479/in/set-7215762...
This is a SOOC, with adjustments made in CS5, and Lightroom 3.0.
Thank you for the views, comments, and faves! I really appreciate them. As it is finally partly cloudy outside, I am heading out to see what I can shoot! Have a great Wednesday!
You gotta see it on black! Just click on the photo!
