Pliny The Elder
If I could only drink one beer from now on, this would be it. It is named for the Early Roman Empire naturalist, philosopher and naval officer. PtE developed the first botanical name for Hops and died trying to rescue friends and family during the eruption of Mount Vesuvius. Pretty awesome guy.
