(178/366) Purple Hazard

June 26, 2012 - A camera, a bottle of crazy purple nail polish, and a white surface are a certain recipe for disaster!

I put the bottle on an overturned plate, set up a white backdrop, checked the drip rate, then turned away to set the camera on a little tripod. I turned around again, grabbed the bottle, and completely forgot I'd left the cap undone.

At the end of the juggling act I looked like I'd been in a battle with an exploding pen, and the pen won.

Where did I put the acetone?

Great photo, even better with the story. Glad I'm not the only one with props flying everywhere. This is such a cool idea and set up.

LOL! But you got a great shot. :) Any photos of the battle aftermath? :)

@Eva - Thank you. Life is never dull ;)

@Marne - No, I was too busy trying to get the purple off my hands. MAN does that stuff leave behind wicked stains!

Paint, nail polish all those things - peel straight off the thing you put them on - but spill a drop and it's there forever!

David in Derbyshire Now isn't THAT the truth! I managed to get it off my skin with the aid of copious amounts of acetone, but the drops that spilled on my white background cloth are now a permanent fixture.

Thank you, I didn't even realize it had been Explored.

Images that make it onto Explore aren't always what I would consider to be worthy of this placement, but THIS shot is just fantastic and very much deserves to be here! WELL DONE and CONGRATULATIONS!! Very nice job!!

I can never figure Explore out. Some of the shots that make it in make no sense to me either. But I very much appreciate your kind words. Thank you.

    Wonderful.

Free 2 Be See? The mess was worth it. :)

Just Mom LOL! I'm not so sure about that. I tried to get it off my nails and I had to soak them and scrub them with acetone. The stuff stained so badly! I still haven't managed to get rid of it completely!

Excellent shot. I had to smile, thinking of my flooded kitchen floor, once with water and once with an oil / water mix. Then my speedlight hurtling to the floor as I pulled the remote cable a bit too hard. Sad but true. Worth it a great pic? - well certainly not the broken speedlight.
