Major General George E. Pickett, C.S.A.

General George E. Pickett, 1825-1875, C.S.A.


Served as Division commander in Longstreets First Corps, Army of Northen Virginia. He is most famous for leading the ill-fated charge on the Union lines at the Battle of Gettysburg (July 1-3, 1863) where his division was all but destroyed. He served until the end of the war and was paroled at Appomattox.
