This is one of several clumps of Purple Violets that grow wild along the walking path I traverse every day on my way to work. I have smaller clumps in my yard, but they tend to get mowed over. Not coincidentally the prolific, and I think often overlooked, Purple Violet is the provincial flower of the province of New Brunswick.
