Cambodia:Siem Reap : Rice field

    Newer Older

2 days in Angkor/Siem Reap, Cambodia

This picture was taken from the bumping taxi, on the way to some temples. I was very interested by the resigned attitude of the man walking the field.

    From the Thailand set

Note (11/28/2005): picture replaced. Enhanced the sky and the green.

I see what you mean about the man but too much field.

Yes, you all right about it. I shot it in burst from the car and my laptop monitor is probably not well calibrated to post pictures on the go (I am stranded in Samui island, Thailand right now, 200mm of rain in 24h, don't know when I can come back, all flight cancelled and road entirely flooded, I will post some funny ones). Anyhow, it will be probably deleted, so I'll post it again later. When, I still don't know :P

sky is flat and boring and there is nothing really interesting in this composition...

A bit too bright and there's really nothing outstanding.

Nice place, nice shot for a travel album, but it's not exciting me...

I realize it may not be feasible in your conditions to post-process, but I did a quick straighten of the horizon and crop and this is much better. I like the content. Can't fix the overbright sky though.

Lots of criticism towards a photo I love! FredArmitage - personally, my eye is drawn to the man here anyway, due to the colour of his shirt and the rest of the composition compliments him; not the other way around. Beautiful shot and this looks like a beautiful country. Hope you got back safely.

nice shot, but it would have been better if it was zoom in a little bit more... too much sky and trees. Love the green field and the man in it. nice!
