Griz | by Frank Scott Photography

This was my first opportunity to photograph a Grizzly bear and I can remember the excitement. This bear and its sibling were on the riverbank re-arranging the sand and gravel, making a more comfortable bed for themselves. Our presence did not seem to upset them in the least. We photographed them for over an hour and once or twice, one or the other would come a little closer to check us out. There were a couple of times that I asked myself “what was I doing here?" Maybe I should be taking up another hobby? Even though this was a young bear, why was its left ear torn? Was it trying to get rid of the radio tranmitter?
