Natural Starburst - Light trails running through Christmas Tree Lane

The main focus here was keeping the lights clear along with the light trails at this ground level angle. The ground was cold and uneven (hard to keep a tripod steady when you're cramped in a ditch lol) and traffic was sporadic but after 6 takes it was very good and I captured the "Tron" light cycle effect I desired complimented with natural starburst effect. Love it! Many of the other exposures turned out overexposed, sloppy, or with muddled lights. Thank goodness for digital photography technology!

Every Christmas season for more than 80 years, the majestic deodars on the "Mile of Christmas Trees" are strung with 10,000 lights. Christmas Tree Lane in Altadena is the oldest large-scale Christmas lighting spectacle in the United States.

Christmas Tree Lane is a 0.7-mile (1.1 km) boulevard of deodar cedar trees in Altadena, California. The trees on the Lane, Santa Rosa Avenue, have been lighted annually as a Christmas Holiday display since 1920. The association which runs it claims it "is the oldest large-scale Christmas lighting spectacle in the United States".[2] Christmas Tree Lane was listed on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places in 1990,[1] the same year it was also designated as California Historical Landmark No. 990.
