Midriff and bust

OK, so you've had enough of older ladies with lines of life's experience written on their faces. By way of a change, therefore, I give you youth and expectation in the form of these two smiling ladies pictured at Ballinasloe horse fair.

 

Ballinasloe horse fair goes on for a week in early October each year. It has been going on since the year of dot it seems. Both sides bought their horses there for the Napoleonic wars. It is a uniquely Irish event. It's a fair and a festival rolled into one. Horses are bought and sold, of course; lots and lots of them. Other things happen too. You could meet anyone and everyone there, the high and the mighty, the great and and the good; young and hopeful beauties like this pair, that I take to be twins!
