Coulds Over the Balmoral Mound Complex, Highway 65, Tensas Parish, LA.

Many of the groups of Native American mounds in north Louisiana area grouped together in clusters of three. Each mound is the point in an equilateral triangle. This triptych is composed of two conical mounds and one rectangular, platform mound. I took this shot with an ND .09 filter and a Canon 28mm f/1.8 lens. The view is facing eastward toward the Mississippi River, across the the fields of Balmoral Plantation. My grandmother was born in the old house on this land while my great-grandfather managed the property in the early 1900's. The clouds that were coming in were the front edge of a front that would bring snow the next morning. Nice day for a drive, but damn cold.
