Inspired by Maggie Austin Cakes
Just a little 7 inch round mud cake I made for D'arcy's home coming on Friday. I love Maggie Austin's frilled cake designs and just thought I'd play around with the technique. This has very thinly rolled strips of fondant, around 1 inch wide, and then frilled on one edge and applied around the cake from top to bottom. It's not overly difficult, but quite time consuming, it took me around an hour to cover this little cake with 11 rounds of frills.
