Twilight cake

    Newer Older

This is for a "Twilight" themed 12th birthday party, that D'arcy is attending tonight. Instead of trying to find her friend Emily something to do with Twilight, she thought it would be a good idea for me to make her a Twilight cake.
It was really simple, just a 9x6 inch rectangular mud cake, ganached and fondant covered. I did the sides first in red fondant and marked all the leaves, then applied the black fondant cover.
The hands and apple are made using modelling paste, rolled out, cut to shape and then dusted with black to achieve the details. The Title and Author's name handpainted in white.

You are very talented!! I always had a passionate love for cakes and the skill involved in making them. They are such a true form of artwork -- like painting and sculpting.
