This red-brick monument is the largest civil architecture of the Middle Ages in Verona. It was built between 1354 and 1356 for the family Scaligari. Both residence and fortress of the Lords, he was subsequently used as a barracks and then as a prison. Completely restored in 1928, it now houses the Municipal Museum presents art Verona Middle Ages to the late eighteenth century. A collection of paintings and sculpture, among which are the works of the great Venetian masters (Mantegna, Bellini, Tintoretto and Veronese).
