The Traditional papal mass

The most elaborate pontifical Mass is the Mass of His Holiness the Pope which in the old rite lasted from 2 to 3 hours.

The Pope, vested in full pontificals is assisted by a number of cardinals and like him is vested in elaborate dalmatics and copes embroidered in gold

Notice also the papal tiaras and miters placed on the altar and the 7 candlesticks.
