A Beacon in the Night

Born sometime in the distant past, Comet Lovejoy was supposed to incinerate as it came within 87,000 miles of the sun, but defied the odds to continue its long journey through space. As the International Space Station passed Madagascar on December 22, 2011, so did the Comet that could.
