      A reminder of spring

      The leaf tips of this acer sometimes develop a red tinge of colour in late summer and occasionally in late autumn, as in this photo from 2009, the leaf may become totally red:

      What an absolutely beautiful series! Wonderful photos and this is a wonderful acer. I especially liked seeing it with the other acers (I now realize that is from last year and I loved it then) -- they're such marvelous trees and you really use them to advantage, particularly with your skilled and artistic pruning and shaping. Beautiful work.
