Verona Door Handle Medley

Newer Older

More here....

What struck me about Verona is the quality of surviving architectural details such as doors and windows. There is a remarkable eclectic selection of door handles around the town - take a look next time you go. I have also added two of my favourites as larger pics in the photostream.

Definitely best viewed large this one...

Wow, they are fantastic! If only we could have such detail around us here!

Thanks all, yes they are lovely arent they and its nice to see them all together. It would be great to get a commission to record all these! I think these would make a good print or card etc.

A question for those in the know about Verona - is the door handle I have marked with a note related to the pattern detail on the grilles of the Scaglieri tombs? The little ladder motif is the same - is this of some importance?

They are all wonderful, and I think it would make a fantastic card (or poster). It would be very interesting to know their dates - there must be quite a range there.

I used to live in Bath and spent a lot of time looking at Georgian door furniture. It's more austere than these, but also very elegant.

Thanks Corydora - Bath is beautiful I haven't been there enough - it's great to pick up certain themes and focus on them during a visit rather than just the standard shots.

This is great, I love doiung this type of work myself, one can really make something out of a group like this, again the details say so much. It'd make a wonderful card , the sort I never seem to find when I'm away. Anyway keep up the fantastic work, it is an inspiration as always.

    Hi,
This image - and all others on this subject, "collections, lots of (whatever), miscellaneous, patterns, textures, persevering and/or very detailed studies images etc." - would be lovely on our very new group, called ALL COLLECTIONS

If you accept the invitation, it is not necessary to ask to join the group. Just click on link and say "hi" :-)

It would be adorable have you there.
