Grand Prismatic Spring Sun Steam

Newer Older

I think this one is best viewed large on black.

A view of the largest hot spring in the United States and third largest in the world: Grand Prismatic Spring, located at Yellowstone National Park.

I thought I would take a break from working on my Bosque images and work on some from the Yellowstone/Tetons trip that I am wanting to get print ready. I hope you all will bear with me posting multiple Grand Prismatic Spring images, hah. It's a photographer's dream with endless possibilities and I still have more from here I want to work on. ;-)

The colours are just amazing and I love the different textures: cracked, wet ground, white mist, grassy hills and clear sky. Especially the red is simply unreal.

PlanetEye LogoYou may want to add your photo to the group PlanetEye - travel beyond words. A very small group of photographers are being invited and the best photos will be included in a new online travel guide.

What lens did you use, and which focal length? It looks great as is, though a wider angle (seeing where the somke is headed, might have been more satisfying)
The steam looks really awesome, There seems to be great potential in Yellowstone.. ;)
