(Vietnam, 11 March 2008) In the village Thin Tun Lup in

Kam Lo district of Quang Tri province, the inhabitants claimed that more than 300

people had been killed or injured by bomblets from cluster bombs and other

unexploded ordnance since the war. All the five men in this photo had suffered

varying degrees of mutilation of their hands due to different types of unexploded

ordnance, all of them while farming. Other men we met in this village had lost legs or

were blinded. The direct socio-economic impact on cluster munitions-contaminated

communities and countries is indisputable and cannot continue to be underestimated. (Foto: Werner Anderson)
