Willits Kinetic Carnivale

At the left is Screaming Vortex. At right is The Still, an entry from Sebastopol, built from the salvaged chassis of a 1960s Fairmont Speeder. In the rear is Articulate Contraption, whose floor was hinged in the center so that the front and back moved up and down as the crew pumped. I assume that the idea was to let them use their leg muscles as well as arm muscles, but it turned out to be not as fast as the standard pump handcars. When I left before the match races were over, I'm pretty sure that The Still was holding the best time of the day.
