DSCN0184 Yosemite Prescribed Burn [Explored]

    Taken almost 10 years ago with our point & shoot, before I discovered photography. We were there to camp and hike, and happened to be there when they were doing a prescribed burn. The current, tragic wildfire in Yosemite brought this image to mind.

      There is so much controversy around here about prescribed fires!! I'm sure there is a balance somewhere...whether anyone will find it is a mystery!! :) I hope the present fires will be out soon...so sad to think of all the wildlife and habitat that has been lost. I think they said it was set by a careless camper? So many fires going on, I lose track!!!!!!!!!! I once thought I would like to move out west...not anymore!! Lovely image, my friend. 2003? Time sure has flown by. I began birding in 2003!! Now, I'm a dinosaur!! :) angie from da ancient woods

      Amazing shot! I worked there in 1964, at the Awahnee Hotel, as a bellman. I climbed Half Dome a number of times, as well as roamed the back country as much as time would allow. Great memories. Geez ... life is just a bowl of trippies!
