Superbowl Sunday Sunset

Newer Older

Caracas to Miami sunset pictures. I used a piece of paper over the flash to tone down the harshness of the bright flash. It worked! Captain Dave B. posed.

    Homemade diffuser? Great idea!

Nice trick. Was it an approach plate, by any chance? :)

Nah, it was actually a piece of the ACARS paper we have on board. Similar in thickness, though.

Ah, figures. So, did dispatch text you the game results?

They did, Eric. But I was recording the game and I actually managed to make it all the way home (to Boston, no less!) without hearing the score. Watched it at 3 a.m.

What kind of camera did you use? (and what settings?) Great shot(s) by the way, love the atmosphere!

    Hi Frank,

Over on the right of any photo in Flickr are the "Additional Information" details. It shows the camera and then if you click on "more properties" it shows everything you ever wanted to know about the picture.

    Thanks!

As a pilot, sitting at the front of the jet, do you have a sense of speed? As a passenger I never really feel like I get that sense looking out the side.

You really only get a sense of speed when you're about to enter the clouds. Otherwise, you're right, it's kind of slow moving.
