24th Alderney Fly-In June 2016
50 aircraft landed in Alderney during the weekend of 24-26 June 2016 for the 24th annual Alderney Fly-In.
Among the showstoppers were many modern and relatively affordable Microlights and Flexwing ultralights (for the adventurous pilot), as well as home-built planes and several classic aircraft. However, the absolute and undisputed star of this year’s event was a 1943 US Navy Stearman Bi-Plane flown in by Richard Leigh and his engineer Tom Gilbert who had restored it.
Although the vast majority of planes came from England, several arrived from as far afield as Switzerland, Holland, Belgium and France.
