Sorry to keep torturing you all with photos of this ugly mug but I'm the only model I've got and I'm still trying to teach myself about studio lighting. Only got the lights 5 days ago.
This time I tried a kind of butterfly lighting. Single strobe setup again. I put the strobe almost directly behind the camera turned it round and aimed it up to bounce off the wall and ceiling. I was aiming for very even light coming from straight-on and above. I then setup my reflector in front of me and below the camera line to fill in the shadows from beneath.
This time I also pushed the ISO down to 50 in order to give me a larger aperture and shallower DOF. Once again this was also an opportunity to learn Lightroom so this was produced exclusively in Lightroom.
Once again there are more than I've uploaded to Flickr. To see the rest visit www.photowalkthrough.com/slideshows/john_portraits1/.
