Who Can It Be Now
It seems I just can't stop photographing Alvin these days. I took this yesterday...I tried to see how close I could get before he took off...His girlfriend was around and they don't like to be in each others area or they fight and chase each other..His girlfriend who still remains nameless ;), is much smaller than Alvin and still can't put much in her pouches..they're still too small..However, Alvin can stuff quite a lot in his and he knows it ;) I know I'm going to miss seeing his cute little face come winter......... ;(
Alvin kept hiding from me going behind that corner of the log. He went back and forth and back and forth...popping his head out..looking to see if I was still there. Finally he came out, stood right where I took this and stared at me for the longest time. I have long conversations with him telling him where to stand, what to do, however he never listens. While we were away I think somebody spooked him as he's skittish these days and likes to play hide and seek with me ;0 instead!!!
"Their shrill, repeated, birdlike chirp is usually made upon sensing a threat but is also thought to be used as a mating call by females. Chipmunks are solitary creatures and normally ignore one another except during the spring, when mating takes place. After a 30-day gestation, a litter of two to eight is born. The young stay with their parents for two months before they begin to gather their own provisions for the winter ahead."
This photo is not cropped!! :)
Have a great weekend everyone
