This morning I woke up and tried to think of a shot to do to commemorate the beginning of 2012 and couldn't think of anything better than this one above. 2011 is over. In the end, it is just a number but it did represent a lot this year. At the beginning of the year, I was preparing to move to London, UK, to spring board my career and live in a place outside my comfort zone. I wanted to get away from some of the things at home and that adventure did just that. Over the past year, I visited over 30 cities across Europe and I got to meet some really amazing people through flickr, hostels, and random encounters. Though it may have felt like I traveled a lot this year, I have only started to scratch the surface of the list of places I plan to visit. Australia, I'm looking at you next year :)
Leaving what I had at home was tough but really, what worthwhile change isn't? I think the most valuable lesson I learned this year is that no matter how tough you think it is, it eventually gets better and often times, you come out realizing that you would not have changed a thing. Traveling, living in Europe, seeing the world, who would change that? I know I wouldn't. Going forward I want to continue to look up, to change, and to grow. There is no time to stand by and wait. So thank you, 2011. Here's to an even better 2012.
I want to thank everyone of you for following me along this year and those that have stuck around even longer than that. You are all my inspiration and I'm proud to call a bunch of you my friends. Keep shooting, I will do the same. Looking forward to following you this upcoming year :)
