Samm Bennett says: This early drum kit typically features
the standard (at the time) small Chinese
tack-head toms, but having three of
them, as here, was, I believe, a bit
unusual. And the large Chinese drum,
that's the first time I've seen one as
large as that in a drum kit.. Note also
that both of his large cymbals are
China-types, and both have rivets,
making them "sizzle" cymbals.
And finally, note that he has a
washboard mounted on the bass drum. Very
cool kit, all in all, and b y the looks
of him, he was cooking on it!
