Giant Otter!

This was one of my target species during the Peru trip. I had three tries with giant otters during my stay in the SE part of the country. This was the last attempt, shot from a canoe, and I finally got the shot I was looking for: a depiction of this endangered species exposing its unique neck patterns. Scientists use these patterns to identify individual otters.

Latest News: I will be teaching a new photo class, Intro to Nature Photography, starting next month. For those in the Seattle area, this is a great way to learn more about photography if you're a beginner, or if you're more seasoned, it's simply a good excuse to get out and shoot. Learn more here.
