    Machar Colony, Karachi, Pakistan:

Machar Colony is arguably Karachi's worst slum, and indisputably its biggest. It's situated behind West Wharf, with a population of about a 70-80'000 people over 4 sq kilometers. This house was a foot and a half below the street level (the street level rises by like 6 inches every year because new roads are laid on top of the existing roads, ie the previous track is not removed first). Consequenly the houses serve as the drainage to the street, and get flooded every year. The roof of this house also caved in which resulted in the floating debris. The water level inside the house is about 2 feet. The man in the door way has not put his foot down yet.
