Chinese food in Santa Clara Koreatown. 來來 (来) 村 lái lái cūn = come come village. Google Translate says "Come to the village". It's Korean Chinese food. People like the hand-made noodles. We must try it.
There was a discussion about the name on Language Log, a blog for linguists. See languagelog.ldc.upenn.edu/nll/?p=15589.
According to the experts, notwithstanding the literal meaning, it means a rustic kind of restaurant. The Asian equivalent of "The Dewdrop Inn", perhaps.
Update: We came here for lunch and had to try the famous noodles. The noodles were excellent. The broth could have been a bit spicier. Next time I'll look up beforehand and see what dishes the regulars are recommending.
