Hounslow Heath Airport 1919. First flight to Australia.

"The first aircraft flight from Europe to Australia took off from Hounslow Heath, West London on a snowy day.. 12th November 1919 and took 27 days, 20 hours and 20 minutes to reach Port Darwin, Australia landing there on 10th December 1919"

"The aircraft, seen here before departure, was a Vickers "Vimy".. Hounslow Heath Airport was established during WW1 but it's use was short lived..closing in 1920. During that time it also hosted the first service between London and Paris."
