Construction of the new EYE building
These photos show the construction process of the new EYE building. Since April 5, 2012 EYE occupies its new premises on the north bank of the river IJ, across the water from Amsterdam Central Station. The new EYE aims to act as a gateway to the world of the moving image. The Vienna office of Delugan Meissl Associated Architects has transformed this goal into a remarkable design that has been received with enthusiasm by the press and public alike.

The new design combines all EYE's public functions in one building, housing four state-of-the-art auditoriums with a capacity of 315, 130 (2x) and 67 respectively. There is ample space for exhibitions and educational activities. A shop and a bar-restaurant complete the picture. The sunny waterfront terrace forms an additional attraction, especially in summer.
