Rally to support Russian punk band Pussy Riot

August 17, 2012

Minneapolis, Minnesota

A few people gathered in Minneapolis to support the feminist punk band Pussy Riot who were sentenced to 2 years in prison for hooliganism after recording a performance without permission in a Russian Orthodox church. The group's trademark look is a colored balaclava. There were only a few people here [a few more showed up later], but there were events at over 50 cities around the world for Global Pussy Riot Day.
