Tax Cut Rally 2011
Minnesota Tax Cut Rally 2011

May 7, 2011

St. Paul, Minnesota

A few thousand people attended the annual Tax Cut Rally at the Minnesota state capitol building. The conservative protesters say they want lower taxes and smaller government.

This was a mostly Republican affair, with Republican volunteers and lots of signs made by the Republican party. The Republican leadership of the Minnesota legislature gave speeches, and the keynote speaker was unsuccessful Republican gubernatorial candidate Tom Emmer. The crowd included Libertarian Party and Constitution Party members, but the event was clearly a victory rally for the Republican's control over the Minnesota legislature since January.
