Gun rights rally "come and take it" flag

St. Paul, Minnesota

April 28, 2018

About 1500 gun owners gathered at the Minnesota capitol to protest against any new gun control laws. They oppose universal background checks on gun purchases. They oppose bans on any types of rifles, such as AR-15's or the types commonly referred to as assault rifles. They oppose restrictions on bump stocks which allow semi-automatic firearms to attain the firing speed of fully automatic firearms. They oppose restrictions on high capacity ammunition magazines.

On February 14, 2018, Nikolas Cruz used an AR-15 to kill 17 people and wound 14 more at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida. In a video Nikolas Cruz recorded before the shooting, he said, "With the power of my AR-15 you will all know who I am."
