Ice Horse 1617 070110 (2)
7th Jan 2010 @ 1617hrs: This extraordinary natural ice sculpture was noticed by Tony when he was browsing through our Flickr photo gallery & noticed what appeared to be a horse's head shape in the bottom right of a view to the South West of the ffarm, taken in the dying rays of the sunset on the evening of 7th January.
Intrigued, I honed in - & incredibly, it looks exactly like one of the horses from the Parthenon Frieze. I did nothing to the photo, nor indeed at the time, to this snowy fragment which was hanging on the garden fence & which I hadn't even noticed.
The beauty of the ice is illuminated from behind by the sunset, giving it an ethereal glow & breathing life into what would otherwise be just a shapeless blob.
