The Cameo in Colonialtown

The Cameo Theatre opened in 1940 and served Orlando's Colonialtown neighborhood. It appears that the theater closed soon afterwards for the duration of World War II, but reopened in 1947. The theater closed again for good during or before the 60s.

It's troubling to see what once was a nice theater look so shabby today.

Maryland Route 5 I know. They've used it for live performances within the past few years, but I guess that all fell through.

Bummer, I didn't realized it had closed.

There are several theatre companies in the Orlando area currently using inferior spaces for their performances. What a shame that they can't band together and buy the Cameo. Unfortunately, property in this area is quite expensive.
