Nahant Village Church ~ Main Front Portal
The Nahant Village Church, affiliated with the United Church of Christ, represents a union of all Protestant church groups in the Town of Nahant. (Massachusetts). This oldest church in Nahant was established in 1850, although the services were held as early as 1820 in a small school-house. The first stone church from 1832 was replaced in 1868 by the granite and wood main sanctuary that is in use today. A century later, in the mid 1960s, the old church building was renovated and enlarged. This stunning New Englad house of worship is indeed eye-catching with its dark red façade, stained-glass 'vitrail' windows, and slate stone roof in the simetrical paralleled bands of gray and white tiles. The Nahant Village Church is undoubtedly an architectural gem and perfect photography subject from any and every angle and perspective!
