Title: "Castle of Lights"
Sandsculptors: Created by a Team of Sculptors
USA 2011 National Sand Sculpting Festival @ Revere Beach in Massachusetts, USA
The huge central sandsculpture, "Castle of Lights", has been comissioned by the sponsors of the Revere Beach 2011 National Sand Sculpting Festival. The gigantic 20-foot tall towering castle was built by a team of several master sculptors. It is an interactive and illuminated sans structure that incorporates strings of multicolored holiday lights. They light up at night from within the sculpture and provide a truely spectacular sight. The castle also provides observers an opportunity to enter inside the sculpture and to stand in the doorway of the castle or to stand on one of the towers for a photo opportunity. Please, notice in my close-up photograph of the "Castle of Lights" a tiny sand figurine, standing behind the half open gate and attempting to gain access to the central castle! I'm not sure if this could be a figure of one of the Smurfs as a promotion of the new animated movie which has been playing these days in the cinemas accross the States. Just like a tribute to the Hulk at the Revere Beach Sand Sculpting festival two years ago. . .
