I obtained a vintage ouija board for a photographic project I'm currently working on, but I'm too scared to actually sit in a dark room and give it a go. Perhaps I'll just take photos of it, eh?

You did this to draw me into your web of evil and make comment, didn't you?

Opinion? Ouija Boards have no power. People's perceptions and expectations have plenty.

Muhahahahah... the web of evil grows ;)
I straw polled friends yesterday and the general perception was in agreement with what you've said.

I'm doing my photography course exam piece on dead people (sacrifice, remembrance and contact) so I'm going to attempt to stage a mock seance to get some pics!

What? No photos actually OF dead people? Can't you hang around Guildford Crematorium and ask for a quick snap before folks go up the chimney? I'm sure they wouldn't mind.

Actually, I do have the odd Victorian Carte de Visite of dead people - one of them a Guildford one! I was going to put it in my last book but felt it far too mawkish. If I can help out in any way, you know where I am.

I work near a crem actually (not Guildford though) and contemplated going there, but couldn't quite work up the guts.... ditto asking an undertaker if I could come and have a look round.

What's a 'Carte de Visite' and is it photogenic?

CDVs are those little Victorian sepia portrait shots done in studios, backed with card usually with rounded edges and measuring about 2 x 3 inches. You know the things I mean now?

I'm afraid the Guildford CDV I have is one of a dead baby, and I have another one in a series of an American high-profile family of a dead toddler. Not seen any CDV of dead adults yet (you seen The Others? Remember the photos of the dead staff mambers and the like? It's that kind of thing)
