Log Cabin from the 1790,s

Located on the grounds of the Forkland Community Center in Boyle County, Kentucky.

Had been a year or so since stopping in at the Forkland Community Center . Since my last visit the log cabin had been finished and a strange looking stone had been added to the grounds.

The place looks great thanks to the efforts of the community in and around the Forkland area. Using the old school as an anchor for the community center and museum , they have been able to preserve the heritage of the Forkland area. Have placed a photo of the school, in the comment section.

...The Forkland Community Center was founded in 1971 when the Forkland School closed after operating for 43 years. People living in the Forkland community pledged money to buy the school buildings and incorporated the Community Center. Its aims are both to preserve and promote the rural heritage of our unique and scenic Knobs area, and also to provide a facility for many educational and recreational community activities.
